I am a Jesus pusher!!! “But I say to you that whoever is anger with his brother shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire” (Matthew 5:22). Jesus speaks of a person whose heart is filled with spiritual murder. Out of his mouth, he speaks judgments about the spiritual life and value of another. Again Jesus does not advocate control of what you say; He cries for the correction of the nature. Jesus must replace our self-centered nature that demeans and belittles with Jesus’ nature. This correction is not something the Kingdom person achieves, merits, or eventually masters through discipline but is the essence of a Kingdom person. Jesus joins our helplessness with His powerful Person. We have His heart and nature in this new creature status of merging with Him. Jesus boldly said that our righteousness must exceed the righteousness of scribes and Pharisees, or we cannot begin in the Kingdom (Matthew 5:20). This requirement is the entrance level. We move from a righteousness we “accomplish” to a righteousness we “are” because of Him,” which is the New Covenant.
Jesus takes us from the achievement of the law’s standard by the self-activated struggle to the relaxed fulfillment of our destiny by His presence. The righteousness of the Pharisees (self-activated) is replaced with the righteousness of the Spirit of Jesus (state of being). Jesus started the Sermon on the Mount by congratulating us for arriving “Blessed.” We have made it; we are filled with Jesus. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
