I am a Jesus pusher!!! According to the Old Testament, the creation of man’s structure was a dichotomy. “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being” (Genesis 2:7). God formed the physical body of man from what was already created, but the inner being of man came from the inner being of God when He breathed into man His life. When God united with man in this way, He created “a living being,” uniting man’s inner being with his physical being. The inner being of man is man’s link with God’s heart, the spiritual world. That link is why physical acts can never produce spiritual life. Mere physical existence is only death, and religious ceremonies carried out in the physical can never produce spiritual life. God made man’s inner being in His image, and only that inner being can link with God’s nature.
We enter death through sin. The spiritual link that allows us to live in the resource of God’s nature is broken. This life produces a religion sourced by the strength of the flesh, causing “those of old” to cry, “You shall not murder” (Matthew 5:21). Man’s control and discipline of his physical urges are the best he can accomplish in his flesh. From the physical view, these urges are acceptable but need limited expression. What if man could again know the spiritual link in his physical life? Can he be born from above (John 3:3)? Can God breathe the breath of His nature into my flesh, re-establishing the link? If God’s nature produces my life, will He not establish a new level of living even in my sexuality? I am a Jesus pusher!!!
