I am a Jesus pusher!!! Jesus was filled with God’s nature, the Holy Spirit, making Him the prototype of this link. He submitted to God’s nature in the Scriptures. The nature of God in Jesus and the nature of God in written form shaped His physical life. Thus, you can experience forgiveness from Jesus. He sources what is best for you with no agenda for Himself. He died on the cross, giving you the gift of salvation that you cannot earn and establishing the spiritual link between you and Him. If this merger is reestablished, what will happen to your sexuality? “Those of old” could not conceive victory in their sexuality beyond controlling their physical acts. “You shall not commit adultery” (Matthew 5:27) was a high standard for any person sourced by his flesh. The sexual body drive is natural, but they viewed it like their hunger drive or their need for Why should this sex drive, a natural part of man’s physical life, not be satisfied?
Jesus’ words, “that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart,” were an overbearing standard. How could this be? Abstaining from the physical expression of the sex drive was difficult to maintain, so how could Jesus expect anyone to control their thoughts as well? If He advocated purity in a person’s thoughts, He would need to change the sex drive. But Jesus spoke from the perspective of a Spirit-filled New Covenant man! Jesus did not want to remove the sex drive, but He proposed a refocusing of this drive in our lives! Can a person’s sexuality not be focused on selfish satisfaction? Can we view the opposite sex through the eyes of Jesus? This merger between God’s nature and me is the acceptable righteousness of the New Covenant! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
