I am a Jesus pusher!!! God became man, not an angel. He came to restore us to the place of authority which comes through being Spirit-sourced. The Hebrew author calls Him “the Captain of their salvation,” (Hebrews 2:10). It was through suffering Jesus would be completed (Hebrews 2:10). The Greek word (archegos) translated Captain means “trail blazer, scout, author, beginner, captain, and starter of a whole new breed of people.” Jesus is the beginning of a new humanity. In describing our relationship with this Captain, we are all of one (Hebrews 2:11). The Greek word (pantes) translated “all” encompasses the Captain of our salvation and us. The Greek word (ek) translated “of” points to what was originally inside another object and has now come forth. The Greek word (henos) translated “one” refers to God, the Father (see Luke 18:19). Jesus, the Captain, you and I have come from the same Father. As He is sourced by the Spirit, so you and I are now sourced by the same Spirit. The life source which produces Him is also producing you and me. What is the title for two individuals produced by the same life source? They are called brothers; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren (Hebrews 2:11).
A new species of humanity was born from a cross. The life of the Spirit is now yours. All residing in and sourcing Jesus can now be yours. We are His brothers; we are joint-heirs with Christ; we are sons of God. No wonder, I am a Jesus pusher!!! He is my brother.
